Legend Fighting Championship is Hong Kong’s first ever professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition. The competition brings top names from across the Asia-Pacific to compete for recognition as the best martial artist.
Headlining the event, China’s former heavyweight King of Sanda Zhao Zilong faces the Philippines’ heavyweight MMA champion Vicente Pajaro. In the co-main event, reigning Australian lightweight champion Adrian Pang returns to Hong Kong to take on Korea’s Spirit MC champion Nam Yui Chul. Also competing is Hong Kong’s Kenny Yeung, a seasoned Muay Thai athlete who recently made the transition to MMA.
Joining the headline athletes are many more MMA stars from Hong Kong, China, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, and Mongolia. This match is going to be a battle between two of Asia’s top athletes, both of whom have extremely aggressive fighting styles. Nam, who trains with Korean Top Team, holds a professional MMA record of 13 wins and 2 losses. He began his career as a contestant on a Korean MMA reality show, and became the welterweight champion of Korea only 3 years later. Pang, known as “the Hunter,” has a professional record of 15 wins and 6 losses, and currently holds the lightweight championship belts in all three major Australian MMA competitions. In his youth, Pang studied Kung Fu in Hong Kong. Both men are looking to make their mark on Hong Kong by winning this match in dramatic style.

Dorjderem, also known as “Muugii,” is a two-time silver-medal winner in Mongolia’s Combat Sambo Championships, and holds an undefeated 5-0 record in professional mixed martial arts, all won in dramatic fashion by knock-out or submission, with none of his recent fights even going past the first round. His opponent, Dylan “The Villain” Andrews, is known as one of the toughest athletes in Australian and New Zealand MMA. Andrews has also never left a match in the judges’ hands. He holds a professional MMA record of 10-2, all won or lost by KO or submission.

Bae has won both the National Sanda and Brazilian Jiujitsu tournaments in Korea at middleweight, and competed in many of the major MMA promotions in Korea, Japan, and Russia, including Spirit MC, DREAM, and M-1. He trains with team M.A.D. in Korea, and holds an MMA record of 10-5. Watanabe has competed primarily within Japan’s extremely competitive DEEP organization, and holds an MMA record of 7-10-2. He rarely allows a match to go to a decision. This will be a great technical match between two very experienced competitors.

Hong Kong’s Kenny Yeung is returning to his hometown for his second professional MMA contest. Yeung has an accomplished record as a professional in Muay Thai, with 17 fights under his belt. After taking up wrestling and Brazilian Jiujitsu, he made the transition to MMA last year. His opponent, Khuukhenkhuu, or “Amaraa,” is an accomplished Combat Sambo athlete, and holds a silver medal in the sport. Khuukhenkhuu is making his professional MMA debut at this event. This is a classic match between a stand-up specialist and a wrestler, and will give the local crowd a chance to cheer for their hometown hero.

His opponent, Matt “Rolling Bear” Cain, is the former welterweight champion of Australia, and has also competed internationally in Japan. He holds a professional MMA record of 7 wins, 5 losses, and 2 draws. Both Hanchana and Cain have fast-paced, aggressive styles and will put on an incredible show for the audience.
