Like many of China’s top-ranked fighters, Zhang hails from China’s Inner Mongolia province. He has a background in both Sanda and Judo, and started competing professionally when he was just 17-years old. Over the course of his relatively brief career to-date, he has already amassed an impressive list of titles: Inner Mongolia Sanda Champion, Beijing Sanda Champion, and All-China Muay Thai Champion. Zhang is still only in his early twenties and shows dramatic improvements in performance with each successive fight, so fans should watch out for him as one of the rising stars of Chinese MMA.
