Hong Kong native Vincent Siu is a relative newcomer to MMA, but he is no stranger to fight sports. Siu began his martial arts training during a seven-year stint spent living in Toronto. Inspired by its emphasis on powerful striking, rigorous training, and combat effectiveness, he began studying Kyokushin Karate, ultimately earning his black belt. Siu has won the North American Kyokushin Karate Championship, and he sees MMA as the natural evolution of his martial arts career, calling the sport “the purest form of martial arts competition.” Since making the transition to MMA, Siu has worked hard to develop his ground skills, and when asked about his MMA goals, Siu’s answer is simple: “I want to win.”
