Kim followed an unconventional path to becoming a fighter: prior to his MMA career, he was a b-boy break-dancer. During the summer of 2004, he was approached to fill a gap in the fight card in an upcoming MMA tournament, and in spite of having no combat sports training, he accepted the challenge. Through sheer explosive power and raw athleticism, Kim came away with the win, after which he made the decision to pursue a career as a professional fighter. Since then, he has fought all over the world against some of MMA’s toughest opponents and has become particularly well-known for his submission skills.
