Legend Confirms Adrian Pang

3rd December 2009

Legend has confirmed Australian lightweight MMA champion Adrian Pang for Hong Kong’s inaugural MMA event on January 11. The Australian-Chinese Pang holds lightweight MMA titles in Australia’s Warriors Realm, Hextreme, and CFC.

adrian_pang_fairtex_athlete3_230“Hong Kong is a city with a long, proud tradition of martial arts. It is an honor for me to fight in front of a city that is so strong in martial arts history,” comments Pang.

Though this is Pang’s first time competing in Hong Kong, the 29-year old is no stranger to the city. Some of his earliest martial arts training took place in Mongkok, where Pang studied under Si Gung Ip Shui. He continues to incorporate many Kung Fu principles into his MMA training.

Pang will have his work cut out for him: his opponent is South Korea’s Nam Yui Chul, a dominant lightweight who has compiled a record of 9 wins and only 2 losses in South Korea’s Spirit MC and Russia’s M-1 MMA tournaments.

Pang, however, is unfazed. “Nam Yui Chul is indeed very tough and has a great record, and I have respect for any athlete who chooses to test himself in MMA. But nothing much has changed in my training as his competition style is similar to other competitors I have faced before.”

Pang arrives in Hong Kong next week to officially launch Legend and will be training out of Team GRIPS during his stay.
